Feature Film
In this environmental and family drama, Annie Fitzpatrick believes she’s left behind the girl who gave up her Stanford education and cross-country Olympic dreams to follow radical Billy Bolton into the forest to save the Redwoods. Now, 20 years later, she’s a wife, mom to two teenagers and an esteemed clinical law professor, focused on environmental law. When her husband John’s career takes them from the liberal Northeast to the conservative deep South, however, she risks losing everything and everyone she loves when Billy reappears and she joins his lawsuit to save the national forest from the ravages of fracking, a lawsuit that pits her against her husband and daughter, the media, the state legislature, and many towns folk.
The screenplay was inspired by the events of Redwood Summer and the still unsolved bombing that nearly killed two Earth First activists.
